Girl Scouts at CES and around the world

There are Girl Scouts all over the world - including at CES.

There are Girl Scouts all over the world – including at CES.

I am a Girl Scout, one of millions in the world.

Girl Scouts is an organisation which helps girls learn more skills and get more confidence.

In it, girls who try to earn badges and make stuff like cookies and sell them to people and make bags we also play games as a team.

There are Girl Scouts in Egypt, America, New Zealand, England, India, Mexico, Switzerland there are over 10 million girls and adults in 145 countries.

Girl Scouts was started by Juliette “Daisy” Gordon Low when she assembled 18 girls from Savannah, Georgia, on March 12, 1912, for a local Girl Scout meeting. She believed that all girls should be given the opportunity to develop physically, mentally and spiritually.

One of the the goals is to get badges for different things you do. Girl Scouts get badges for making stuff like posters and cookies which they also sell to raise money, and they also make bags.

They also get badges for things like arts and crafts, winter games, Thinking Day and cooking.

They try to get these badges because they want to try to learn more skills and they show you have achieved something new. The badges are ironed onto special sashes which members wear when they go to the meetings.

There are several groups in Girl Scouts. There are Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes and Seniors. You should be about five or six in Daisies, around seven or eight in Brownies, around nine or ten to be in Juniors, around eleven or twelve to be in Cadettes and around thirteen or fourteen or above to be in Seniors.

CES has its own Girl Scouts Troop though only Juniors. We make cookies, make bags, play games and learn camping skills. There are around 20 girls in the Junior group in CES and the teachers are Ms Carberry and Ms Abohassab.

We do lots of fun things at CES.

We play games like pin the nose on Rudolph, decorate the Christmas tree at Christmas, do the Limbo and throw snowballs into the hoop. The other fun thing we do is we make cookies and sell them.

The hardest thing about being a Girl Scout is making enough things for a lot of people. I like being a Girl Scout because it is fun.

To be a Girl Scout you need to go by the Girl Scout Law and Promise. The Girl Scouts have a promise and law which is recited at every meeting and is about being a good Girl Scout to everyone. The Girl Scout promise is “On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my Country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law.”

The Girl Scout Law is about being kind to other people and being responsible. Girl Scouts have a sign which has the palm face out, the thumb holding down the little finger and with the fingertips on the brow of the head.

Their uniform is a white shirt, badge jeans or shorts and our sash.

I think it is a good thing for young girls to join because you will learn new skills, you will work as a team, it’s fun, you will go camping and you will play games.

To join Girl Scouts at CES is easy – you just have to fill out a form which you can get from Ms Carberry.

  1. Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective.
A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say you have done a fantastic job with this. Also, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Internet explorer. Superb Blog!
