The Netherlands is a beautiful place to visit with friendly people and lots to do.
Lets take a tour in, I don’t know, maybe THE NETHERLANDS. The Netherlands is in Europe near Belgium, Germany and France.
The Netherlands is the land of Dutch people, Dutch, wooden shoes, the colour orange, fields of tulips, amazing cheese, Amsterdam and a criminal called ‘The Nose’ because he has a big nose.
There are lots of activities for tourists to do in the Netherlands. For instance we have Queens Day when we celebrate our Queen. On Queens Day you’re supposed to wear orange because our first king’s surname was “Van Oranje Nassau” and “Oranje” is Dutch for “Orange”.
The Netherlands also has a lot of beautiful scenery. One of the most beautiful things are the fields of tulips which from far away look like rows of colours. Another thing which is a true treasure is to sit down in any place as long as you can see the sunset. At sunset every place looks amazing.
In the Netherlands the best food ever is cheese. We are very well-known for our cheese. We have all kinds of cheeses like Kruiden kaas (Herb cheese) and Oude Amsterdam (Old Amsterdam).
Our national dish is Stampot which is a mix of mashed potatoes and smoked sausages and kale mush – it’s very yummy.
In the Netherlands we also have a cookie called kruide koek. This cookie is so yummy.
There three big reasons why the Netherland is famous. Firstly, because the painter Vincent Van Gogh was Dutch, secondly, in the dinosaur days the Netherlands was a tropical sea which is the reason why we have a lot of rivers – there is over 4,400km of rivers and lakes in the Netherland.
The third reason is because we have wooden shoes known as “clocks”.
Vincent Van Gogh is one of the world’s most famous painters. He was an artist 160 years ago but nobody believed him when he said he was a painter. He cut his ear once but nobody knows why. After died but his parents saved his art work and showed it to people and then he got more and more popular and eventually became one of the most popular artists in the world.
While the Netherlands is amazing, one thing that is very weird is that everybody knows Belgium and the Netherlands is right on top of it but almost nobody knows about the Netherland.
The Netherlands is one of the smallest country in the world. It takes only two and a half hours to go all around the Netherlands but around 16,696,000 people live there. It has the highest population density of any country in Europe.
A lot of people in the Netherland have bikes and it’s very safe to ride because we have a lot of bike tracks.
The weather there changes depending on the time of year. The weather is not really so nice because it snows and in autumn it’s very cold. In the summer it’s so hot that everybody in the Netherlands puts on shorts and goes to the sea and swims (but don’t come too deep into the sea because we have piranhas).
The Netherland has no danger at all – it is a very safe country. It’s just a normal country on a normal continent. The people there are very nice and friendly as well – even when you need to make a phone call they will let you use their phone (but only for emergencies).
My advice to anyone going to the Netherlands is to be open-minded in a good way and to go all around the world because then you will know what it’s like in other countries.
